- Brisbane Heat have lost 4 of their 8 matches this season.
- Brisbane Heat’s Nathan McSweeney scored 43 runs in his last match.
- Hobart Hurricanes have won 6 of their 7 completed matches this season.
- Hobart Hurricanes’ Tim David has scored 62*, 64* & 24* runs in his last 3 matches.
Head to Head
Brisbane Heat have won three of their last five matches against the Hobart Hurricanes, but neither have managed to win two in a row during those fixtures. They last met in January 2024, a match the Heat won by one run on the Duckworth/Lewis method.
Brisbane Heat Form
The equation is pretty simple for the Brisbane Heat who are currently fifth on the table with two games to play. They need to win both of their remaining two games to get into the top four.
As the defending BBL champions, the Heat have only managed three wins in their eight games, which is very disappointing for them. They lost their last outing against the Adelaide Strikers by 56 runs.
The bowlers were poor on the day, conceding a massive 251 runs in 20 overs. In reply, Nathan McSweeney top scored with 43 runs while Matt Renshaw added a quick fire 34, but the 195 runs were nowhere close to where they needed to be.
Brisbane Heat Injuries & Team News
This is a must-win game for the Heat, so I wouldn’t imagine they’d rotate any of their top players.
Hobart Hurricanes Form
The Hobart Hurricanes are in prime position to top the BBL table. They are currently top on 11 points, two clear of second and third place with two games to play.
The Hurricanes have won six of their eight games with one defeat and a no result due to weather. They won their last game against the Melbourne Renegades chasing 155 for the win.
Nikhil Chaudhary and Matthew Wade both scored 36 runs while the in-form Tim David added an unbeaten 24 to wrap things up with two balls to spare.
Hobart Hurricanes Injuries & Team News
The Hurricanes have secured qualification and probably need just one win from the last two games to secure top spot. They will want to do it in this fixture though, which will allow key players to be rested ahead of the playoffs.
Verdict
Hurricanes are backed to win with Tim David tipped to top score.
For the Heat, I am backing Nathan McSweeney to top score.
