Two early wickets put the Strikers on the front foot before a 50-run partnership put the Heat back on track. Consistent wickets continued to fall, but the Strikers could not get rid of Nathan McSweeney who ended up seeing the Heat home.

Riley Meredith was the pick of the Hurricane bowlers, taking 3-27 in four overs as the Scorchers reached 155 in 20 overs. Thereafter it was the Mitchell Owen show as the Hurricanes won by eight wickets.
Owen scored an unbeaten 101 of 68 balls while Shai Hope offered support at the other end with 38 runs.
